BFS buys off-road tire business

Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. will purchase the commercial and off-road divisions of Fletcher's Cobre Tire Inc. Executives at the Nashville, Tenn.-based tire manufacturer say the acquisition will help BFS shore up its position as a key supplier to the industrial, off-road and mining markets.
