In five years, the top four PC suppliers will have more than 70% of the worldwide market, Eckhard Pfeiffer, president and CEO, Compaq Computer, said in an address to Comdex attendees recently. "We fully expect to be one of the top three suppliers as we enter the next century," Pfeiffer says. "The suppliers who can meet increasing needs of customers--the ones who extend their value beyond product--will win. Those who can't will have to find a market niche...or will ultimately disappear."
