SAM

In another series of seminars held nationwide, CS&T executives met with corporate software buyers to discuss software asset management (SAM). Managing software as a corporate asset rather than an expense, the execs say, enables buyers to maximize return on their companies' investment.Software asset management, as defined by CS&T, is the policies, processes, and technologies a company uses to purchase, deploy, administer, and manage network, desktop/notebook, or server software assets.
As part of its services, CS&T will assess a company's current software asset-management practices, policies, procedures, and technology infrastructure, and provide recommendations for improvement.
A new financing option from CS&T provides customers with an installment plan for software, licenses, or technology services, whether they are incremental purchases or large, single-transaction buys. The program allows corporate software buyers to have one-stop shopping for their computing needs, from hardware and software procurement to technical services.
