Intel cuts Pentium II-233 tags

Intel has cut the price of its 233-megahertz Pentium II chip from $401 to $261. The price drop occurred about a month before it was expected since Intel usually cuts prices in the second month of a quarter. But Intel is trying to move Pentium II into the mainstream quickly and buyers should expect more aggressive price cuts during 1998.
