Purchasing Notes

By Staff -- Purchasing, 2/12/1998

OfficeMax enters the Asian market with the opening of its first office products superstore near Nagoya, Japan. New store features more than 10,000 office products, computers, and business machines, as well as OfficeMax's store-within-a-store concepts of CopyMax and FurnitureMax, devoted exclusively to print-for-pay and furniture, respectively. As part of its joint venture with jusco, one of Japan's largest retailers and land developers, OfficeMax expects to eventually open up to 200 stores in the country.
