Sharp Electronics has introduced the SD-2275 Master Series copier. Operating at 75 copies per minute, the SD-2275 has a reversing automatic document feeder (radf), the company's automatic process control system, and features that help ensure copy quality for up to 200,000 copies per month.Sharp designed the SD-2275 for use in mid- to large-size offices, where it can be used in environments such as high-volume walk-up, semi-centralized, and central reproduction department. The SF-S55, an optional bin sorter for the SD-2275, provides multi-position stapling to provide users with additional flexibility when preparing finished documents.
The radf features a 100-sheet capacity in the document feeder and duplex tray, allowing duplication of up to 100 sets of double-sided documents. Operators can produce double-sided documents from two single-sided originals; two single-sided copies from one double-sided original; or double-sided documents from doubled-sided originals.
In addition, the SD-2275 uses air-knife vacuum technology for paper feeding. Because the paper enters the copier via suction instead of feed-rollers, misfeeds are virtually eliminated, according to the company.
Three front-loading, user-adjustable paper drawers hold 5000 sheets of paper in sizes ranging from 5[1/2] in. x 8[1/2] in. to 11 in. x 17 in. Total online paper capacity is brought up to 5350 sheets with a 250-sheet side-loading cassette and a bypass tray that can accommodate up to 100 sheets of paper.
Liquid crystal display reports information on copier status, size of paper in each drawer, and size of the original in the feeder. Animated help guide uses text and moving graphics to step users through such procedures as toner replacement and misfeed removal.
