Reducing total costs

By Staff -- Purchasing, 3/12/1998

On April 16, 1998, the New England Suppliers Institute (nesi) will convene its third annual conference on Total Cost Reduction at the Marriott Hotel in Nashua, N.H. The conference will be presented in four tracks: lean manufacturing, collaborative customer-supplier practices, supply base management, and purchasing practices.

Presentations will be made by practitioners who are "actively engaged in managing manufacturing enterprises." Companies presenting range from small to large, reflecting the organization's belief that leading edge practices are adaptable to every company regardless of size. Keynote speaker, Peter Hines, will present "a strong case for U.S. companies to adapt some of the lessons of the Japanese supply models to drive stronger performance throughout the supply chain." Hines is author of several books and many articles on lean practices with a focus on the supply side.

Conference registration fee is $195 per attendee for nesi members and $250 for non-members. For information contact: nesi at 617-727-8158 or visit nesi web site at www.nesi.org.
