Some analysts had feared a sharp influx of low-priced commodity imports from Asia (or from nations that typically sell into Asia) but latest numbers from napm say it's not happening. Nineteen percent of PMs surveyed in December reported an increase in materials imports, up from 13% in November. In January, however, the figure dropped to 15% and last month it fell back to 13%. Materials imports, according to napm, are said to be growing, albeit at a slowing rate.
