Don't be too surprised to see a flurry of activity from the Transportation Dept. over airline passenger rates. Flurry of consumer group complaints has raised concerns about the competitive pricing practices of some of the major trunk carriers. Concerns are centered around charges that some large carriers are drawing a bead on low-fare competitors with illegal discounting practices and (in some cases) price wars.
