Purchasing Notes

Don't be surprised to see DEC's line of notebook PCs collapse into Compaq's product line--as early as next year. Analysts expect the computer giant to fold higher-end notebook technology obtained from its purchase of Digital Equipment Corp. into its Armada line of portable PCs. Rest of the line, however, appears to be redundant. In the short term, Compaq is expected to continue to support both DEC notebooks and brand.
