Expect gaskets and seals demand to continue rising at a 6.2% clip through 2001. That's the market forecast of Cleveland-based Freedonia Group. Maintenance for new equipment purchased in the early '90s will drive much of the demand. OEM markets, on the other hand, will be relatively weak. Domestic producers are expected to bring on many new high-performance products over the next several years, but will be hurt by serious import competition.
