Tiny op am introduced

By James Carbone -- Purchasing, 4/23/1998

National Semiconductor says it has begun production of the industry's smallest operational amplifier. The LMV321 is housed in an SC70-5 package and measures just 2.0mm by 2.1mm x 1.0mm (about 3/32 inch square). With this small package, designers can place the LMV321 closer to the signal source in space-constrained portable systems for greater signal integrity. The new chip also reduces power consumption and extends battery life in portable products.
