ITT considers dumping auto businesses

ITT Industries Inc. says it may sell its automotive brake, chassis module, and electrical systems businesses. The units, which together account for $3.9 billion in sales, have been under tremendous pressure to reduce product prices in recent years. Not for sale: ITT's components and auto-switching groups.
