CAPACITY CHANGES

American Acryl, a joint venture between the U.S. units of Japan's Nippon Shokubai Co. Ltd. and France's Elf Atochem, will build a facility near Pasadena, Texas, that will include an acrylic acid plant and a butyl acrylate plant. Construction will start in 1999, with production planned for mid-2000.
