Helmut Porkert, formerly senior vice president of materials management at Bayer Corp. and a member of Purchasing's Editorial Advisory Board, has been named chief procurement officer for Atlantic Richfield Co. Replacing Porkert at Bayer will be Juergen Sommer, previously manager of technical & services procurement at central service group procurement at Bayer AG in Germany.
