Keep an eye on NEC. Company has begun shipping samples of 128-megabit synchronous drams made on 0.22 micron technology. The memory chips have a pin-and-package design compatible with 64-megabit drams so they will be used mainly in workstations, servers, desktop, and notebook computers. Volume production will begin in August.
