Capacity Changes

Shell Chemical will expand its Norco, La., olefins plant. Ethylene capacity will grow by 500 million lb/yr, and propylene capacity will rise by 200 million lb/yr. The new capacity will be on-line by the end of 1999, and is the first of four incremental debottlenecking projects Shell has planned for its U.S. Gulf Coast olefins system.
