Biggest buying problems

Delivery problems plagued the holidays, according to buyers. Not only do many say they're facing increasing freight rates, but they add that service by rail and truck is not as good as it needs to be.

Other buyers point to internal problems. "Our biggest problem is that requisitioners are not specific enough," says a buyer in California. "We have a problem with our people planning beyond tomorrow's lunch," adds a buyer in Washington.
