Costs and prices.

Buyers say the biggest buying problems this month revolve around costs and prices. "We must make sure we're getting the lowest possible cost, because most companies will come off their contract prices now," says a buyer in Texas. Another buyer reports problems with "establishing real market prices on raw materials." Others face specific price problems--several cited the cost of shipping next-day or second-day air.
