Canada probes sheet imports

Revenue Canada finally has decided to investigate complaints that cold-rolled steel sheet from Argentina, Belgium, New Zealand, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, and Turkey are being dumped in Canada. The complaint was made last July by Canadian mills Dofasco, Ispat, Sidbec, and Stelco, which together produce 90% of all Canadian cold-rolled sheet. The delay in the investigation was due to Revenue Canada focusing attention on a dumping complaint against imports of hot-rolled steel sheet.
