Plymouth Tube consolidates
By Staff -- Purchasing, 3/11/1999
Plymouth Tube of Warrenville, Pa., has created a Carbon and Alloy Tube Group by consolidating its EHS and Winamac units. EHS makes small-diameter seamless and drawn-over-mandrel tubing at plants in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. Winamac makes larger-diameter cold-drawn, hot-finished carbon and alloy tubing, and electric-resistance welded tubing at three plants in Pennsylvania.Reason for the move: "Our customer surveys show that companies want to streamline the materials and components specifying and purchasing process," says Don Van Pelt, Jr., Plymouth Tube president. "By providing a single point of contact, we can facilitate faster tube specification and ordering, a more integrated approach to technical service, and a higher level of satisfaction for customers who use a variety of our carbon and alloy tubing products."
The firm's Carbon and Alloy Tube Group will coordinate sales of mechanical tubing with outside diameters up to 5.53 inches, plus boiler tubing, pressure tubing, hydraulic-fluid line tubing, and bearing tubing, all up to 5.56-inch OD. Other Plymouth Tube groups make and sell aluminum tubing and steel, nickel, and titanium extruded shapes.
