Steve Ng has retired after nine years as chief materials officer at Solectron, a supplier of customized electronics products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company has appointed Kevin Burns as vice president of global materials services. He will report to Walt Wilson, senior vice president of supply-chain integration. Burns joined Solectron in November, coming from Westinghouse Electric where he served as vice president and general manager of operations at the Power Generation Division. He holds a masters in business administration from the Wharton School, and a BS in mechanical/metallurgical engineering from the University of Connecticut.
