Celcon acetal polymer (POM) prices are set to increase by 3% to 5% in North America, according to a press release from Ticona, a business unit of Celanese AG, Summit, N.J. Prices for specialty and colored grades of POM will increase by 6% to 8%. The company is also announcing a price hike for all its Celanese nylon 6/6 engineering plastics by 8% to 10%.
JLM Marketing Inc., Tampa, Fla., is raising its solvents prices. The increases follow: Acetone (5¢/lb increase up to 39¢/lb), ethanols (15¢/gal), isopropyl alcohol (4¢/lb up to 45¢/lb), methyl ethyl ketone (3¢/lb up to 51¢/lb), n-butyl alcohol (5¢/lb up to 55¢/lb), n-propyl acetate (3¢/lb up to 68¢/lb), n-propyl alcohol (3¢/lb up to 63¢/lb), and propylene glycol (4¢/lb up to 60¢/lb).
Ashland's Drew Industrial division is raising its prices for water treatment chemicals by 5%.
Ashland's Composite Polymers Division has announced a 3¢/lb price increase on its specialty, general-purpose isophthalic and vinyl ester resins.
Ashland Chemical's Industrial Chemicals and Solvents Division has also announced a schedule of price increases to be applied to truck deliveries. The price hikes are as follows:
Multi-compartment, full tank truck deliveries (6,000 gal to 44,000 lb) will incur a 1¢/lb increase; Short truck deliveries (less than 6,000 gal or 44,000 lb) 1.5¢/lb increase; Packaged product deliveries (drums, totes, dry goods of less than 80 drums or 40,000 lb) 1¢/lb increase.
