B2BPort -a B2B import-export trade exchange launching in fourth-quarter 2000-has a tentative cross-marketing agreement with the South Korean Inchon Trade Office in the U.S., which claims to represent 8,000 of the largest manufacturers, importers, and exporters in South Korea. The companies are expected to use the exchange to place buy-sell requests across hundreds of product markets, manufacturing lines, special products, and raw materials.
The eSprocket Net market for used capital equipment says it launched with over $500 million worth of product listings, representing more than 20K pieces of inventory. eSprocket attributes the size of its initial offering to its exclusive agreement with the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA). eSprocket's patent-pending Negotiation Table technology is a negotiation based platform that helps companies address the complexities of buying or selling used capital assets.
Sorcity.com , a B2B reverse auction Web site, says its database has expanded to include more than 600,000 supply side participants in the year the site has been operating.
