Parker Hannifin has spun off the iPower Distribution Group

Parker Hannifin has spun off the iPower Distribution Group that positions the company into a dot.com company. Capital Works, Cleveland, Ohio; Keane, Boston, Mass.; and Parker Hannifin have formed a new company, iPower Logistics LLC, which has acquired the iPower Distribution Group from Parker Hannifin. Parker retains a 20% equity in the company.

Rexel S.A., Paris, France, has agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Westburne Inc., Montreal, Canada. Westburne, which has 546 branches, distributes electrical supplies in Canada and the U.S. It also distributes products in the following sectors: plumbing and waterworks, refrigeration and hvac, and industrial products.

 

Continuing with implementation of its zone cluster strategy, Graybar Electric is creating a new district with headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Continuing with implementation of its zone cluster strategy, Graybar Electric is creating a new district with headquarters in Houston, Texas. The Houston district is Graybar's second district to be designed around the zone cluster concept. It will include Graybar's three locations in Houston, La Marque, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Beaumont, Texas; and Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lake Charles, La. The branches will be served by the company's 200,000 sq. ft. zone warehouse in Stafford, Texas. The zone operation handles daily replenishment of inventory at each branch and ships material to customers for next-day delivery.

"Rapid growth in the Mid-Atlantic area requires that we realign several of our east division regions and open a regional office in Baltimore," says Bill Stevens, president and CEO. "This is just one step that Motion is taking to better serve our customers." The new office serves Delaware, Maryland, northern Virginia, and the greater Delaware Valley area of Philadelphia. Motion Industries has more than 500 operations across North America, including seven distribution centers.
