Fairmont Supply Co. has signed an agreement with McJunkin Corp., Cameron & Barkley and McJunkin-Cambar to sell the physical assets, inventory and operations associated with 18 industrial locations and store management sites. Fairmont Supply has a total of 36 facilities nationwide.
The sale includes sites in Wilmington, Del.; Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Circleville, Ohio; Charleston and Parkersburg, W.Va.; Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn.; Houston, Beaumont and Victoria, Texas; Mobile, Ala.; and LaPlace, La. These sites were originally established to serve the industrial supply needs of various DuPont chemical plants. The customers currently served from these locations are included in the sale.
A full-line distributor of industrial MRO supplies, Fairmont Supply (www.fairmontsupply.com) offers mine specialty, electrical, safety, industrial rubber, material handling, power transmission, piping systems and general mill supply products.
Fairmont Supply will be supporting an orderly transition of these operations to the buyers.
"Fairmont Supply will continue to focus on our core competencies, with an emphasis on expanding our role in the mining and energy industries," says Chuck Whirlow, president. "We also will continue to serve other existing customers at sites not affected by this transaction."
Fairmont Supply recently moved its headquarters from Millcraft Center in Washington, Pa., to the Southpointe Industrial Complex in Canonsburg, Pa.
