Kaman Industrial Technologies has launched KamanDirect. com, a proprietary business-to-business Web site serving the MRO and OEM industrial products marketplace.

KamanDirect.com incorporates the company's Direct Vendor Access technology and complements such initiatives as Warehouse Management Systems, EDI and custom bar-coding capabilities.

All KamanDirect.com transactions are fully automated and integrated into Kaman's existing databases and enterprisewide business systems, allowing the company to leverage its established technology infrastructure. The site offers customers full access to Kaman's complete catalog of 1.2 million items, as well as direct real-time viewing of Kaman and key manufacturer inventory. With online access to their current contract pricing, orders move directly from a customer's desktop to Kaman's logistics system, thereby streamlining the ordering process and reducing transaction costs.

Developed in response to specific customer requirements, the site's functionality extends beyond placing orders over the Internet. KamanDirect.com provides online access to personalized order and shipping status, as well as shipping history for orders placed over the prior 12-month period. Order information provided by these features is inclusive of all customer transactions, whether facilitated by Kaman's network of 170 branches, or placed over the Internet or EDI. The site's "call me" feature allows for integration of customer service, including participation in multiple industry-specific marketplaces, portals and exchanges.
