The Dow Chemical Co. , Midland, Mich., is hiking the price of its anhydrous hydrogen chloride (AHCI) sold in the U.S. and Canada by $50/ton, effective Apr. 1, 2001, or as contracts permit.
Huron tech Corp. , Delco, N.C., has raised the price of its sodium chlorate by $25/ton in the U.S., effective immediately. According to the company, the price increase comes in response to dramatic cost increases of raw materials and energy, along with sustained demand and tighter supply.
Armand Products Co. , based in Princeton, N.J., has raised the price of its potassium carbonate by $2.00/hundredweight and all grades of potassium bicarbonate by $2.50/hundredweight. Both price increases are effective March 2, 2001, or as contract terms allow.
Effective immediately, Eka Chemicals , a business unit of AkzoNobel, increased its price of sodium chlorate by $25/ton in the U.S. and by $40/metric ton in Canada. The company cites increased energy costs as the primary reason for the price hike.
General Chemical , Parsippany, N.J., is raising its schedule and off-schedule pricing on its ammonium thiosulfate solutions by $15/ton. The company is also hiking its sodium thiosulfate solutions, but by $20/ton, effective immediately.
