General Tool & Supply, Portland, Ore., has merged with Industrial Tool & Supply, Tucson, Ariz. General Tool had been approached by several customers about the possibility of supplying facilities in the Southwest. Industrial Tool had been seeking to expand into the electronics and aerospace markets. Pooling resources will enable the combined companies to pursue these goals. With $8.9 million in annual sales, Industrial Tool has four facilities: headquarters in Tucson, a branch in Tempe, and two in-plant operations at Phelps-Dodge copper mines. General Tool has $44 million in annual sales and one location.
