Look for more industry "exchanges" to form on the Web. BellSouth and Commerce One plan to form joint venture to develop Web site for procurement in telecommunications industry, joining recently announced exchanges for automotive and aerospace producers. All telecom providers and supporting industries are encouraged to join BellSouth's exchange, which initially will offer procurement management functionality, reporting and analysis capabilities. Commerce One's system will be used; the exchange is scheduled to go live during second quarter this year.
