But don't expect to see industry exchanges operating too soon. Major hurdles to the automotive exchange include lack of standardization among suppliers, problems with getting highly competitive e-procurement service providers to work together, reluctance of suppliers to rip out legacy systems such as EDI, and need for massive investment.
