Look for network processor market to boom over next few years. Increasing bandwidth demands on local and wide area networks will spur network processor market to grow from $128 million in 1999 to $2.9 billion in 2004, according to Cahners In-Stat Group. Network processors allow routers and ATM switches to better manage networking traffic such as data, voice and video.
