Don't expect most suppliers to be e-commerce capable for awhile

Don't expect most suppliers to be e-commerce capable for awhile. Survey by National Association of Manufacturers shows that majority of companies are not near completion of implementing e-commerce systems for some time. Reasons: Complexity of systems, high system cost, scarcity or lack of technical resources and lack of standardization between IT systems of different companies.
