Need2Buy.com goes with Extricity for B2B e-commerce platform

Need2Buy.com, an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of electronic components, has selected Extricity Software Inc. to implement a comprehensive platform for managing the company's Internet-based trading partners.Management of the electronics marketplace say they have chosen Extricity's Alliance for Net Markets platform because it integrates the Need2Buy exchange with the underlying business infrastructure of the site's major clients.
"Extricity's significant value is that it leverages a variety of open Internet standards to automatically link business processes with those of key partners-- without the time or expense of altering existing legacy, proprietary or ERP applications," says Andrew R. Wilson, president and chief operating officer of Need2Buy. "The Extricity solution will accelerate our ability to provide our customers with the industry's first end-to-end e-commerce solution, while leveraging their existing technology infrastructure."
Extricity says it supports a full range of communication mechanisms and content standards, eliminating the need for manual re-entry of information into back end systems.
"We anticipate that Extricity Alliance for Net markets will enable our trading partners to further reduce their costs of doing business and that Need2Buy will consequently become an increasingly compelling value proposition," says Wilson.
