Pasadena Paper Company, of Pasadena, Texas, has signed a four-year energy services agreement with Reliant Energy Solutions of Houston. The agreement establishes a definitive process to develop and implement comprehensive energy strategies for Pasadena Paper's manufacturing facility. As Pasadena's corporate energy partner, Reliant Energy Solutions will deliver integrated energy solutions that reduce the energy and utility costs and optimize the use of energy in the manufacturing processes at Pasadena Paper's coated paper manufacturing facility. These solutions may include improvement in the utilization of energy within existing manufacturing processes, reduction in operational and maintenance costs of the energy and utility systems, reduction in future energy-related capital investments, and utility island outsourcing. Pasadena VP John Cowan says, "In an increasingly competitive business environment, it is crucial we concentrate our expertise on paper making, and choose strong partners with complementary expertise, to fully optimize the manufacturing process."
