Nucor ranks No. 1 with customers

For the 12 months ending June 30, Nucor's mini-mill in Crawfordsville, Ind., ranked No. 1 in overall customer satisfaction among carbon sheet steel buyers, according to the 1999 mid-year customer satisfaction report from Jacobson & Associates, Lake Forest, Ill. The report is based on 2,415 customer evaluations covering 32 carbon sheet producers in the U.S. and Canada.The rankings of carbon sheet producers are:
- Quality. 1, AK Steel; 2, U.S. Steel Group (Mon Valley plants in Pennsylvania); 3, Nucor (Hickman, Ark.); 4, LTV Steel Co. (Hennepin, Ill.); 5, Stelco Inc., (Hamilton, Ont.); 6, USS Posco Industries, (Pittsburg, Calif.); 7, Dofasco (Hamilton, Ont.); 8, Nucor (Crawfordsville, Ind.)
- Service. 1, Nucor (Crawfordsville); 2, WCI Steel Inc.; 3, Nucor (Hickman); 4, USS-Posco Industries (Pittsburg); 5, Bethlehem Steel Corp. (Sparrows Point, Md.); 6, Gulf States Steel (Gadsden, Ala.); 7, LTV (Hennepin); 8, U.S. Steel (Mon Valley).
