Xerox Corp. is driving down the price of network color printers to the level of black-and-white printers with the launch of the Xerox Phaser 8200 single pass solid ink printer and the Xerox Phaser 6200 single pass laser color printer.
"With the debut of these new printers, the advantages of color printing are now an affordable reality for offices of every size," says Jim Miller, president, Xerox Office Printing Business. "The quality, performance and value of the Phaser 8200 and Phaser 6200 further support Xerox's leadership role in the widespead adoption of color."
With a price of $1,499, the Phaser 8200 boasts a powerful 300 MHz processor that allows for a first page out time of nine seconds, as well as speeds of 16 pages per minute in fast color mode and 10 pages per minute in standard mode.
The solid ink printer uses unique Phaser 8200 ColorStix Solid Ink in shapes that provide no-mistake loading.
Starting at $1,999, the Phaser 6200 single pass color laser printer has a 500 MHz PowerPC processor and 16 pages per minute at 2400-dpi resolution.
With fewer consumables than the typical laser printer, the Phaser 6200 also has a simple paper path. It comes with intelligent software, including an interactive print driver that provides realtime printer status, Phaser Installer for one-click network installation and PhaserSMART Virtual Help Desk.
Both the Phaser 8200 and Phaser 6200 have a one-year, free onsite service warranty and the Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee.
