Leggett & Platt Inc. named Timothy N. Kelly, chief purchasing officer. Kelly assumed responsibility for all existing corporate purchasing activities as well as the company's international sourcing efforts. Also, he has been charged with consolidating and leveraging all of Leggett & Platt's buying activities in certain targeted commodities.

Leggett & Platt is a Fortune 500 diversified manufacturer of engineered products with facilities located around the world. Product lines are in the residential and commercial furnishings, aluminum and specialized products and industrial materials markets.

Kelly, who has extensive experience in purchasing and supply chain management, previously served as chief procurement officer at Invensys [PUR: April 20, 2000; p. 46]. He also is a Six-Sigma Master Black Belt.
