PURCHASING magazine and Reed Business Information are hosting SupplyChainLinkExpo, a virtual conference and tradeshow, October 16-17. The SupplyChainLinkExpo will feature interactive Webcasts and keynote addresses from major industry players. It will also include exhibits and a show daily.
The Expo is organized into five pavilions representing all aspects of the supply chain—Design, Plan, Source, Make, and Move. The first day will feature a keynote address by Raymond J. Lane, General Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. A former president and chief operating officer at Oracle Corp., Lane will discuss emerging technologies that will change the supply chain world. The day two keynote speaker will be Robert W. Moffat, Jr., senior vice president and group executive, Personal Systems and Integrated Supply Chain for IBM. Moffat will discuss the issues, strategies, complications and success stories behind IBM's complex supply chain operation.
Other SCLE features:- Thomas Stallkamp, vice chairman and CEO, MSX International and former president and chief procurement officer of Chrysler, will address underlying trends that OEM companies should be examining that could affect either their supply bases or their roles as suppliers to others. Stallkamp will discuss the evolving role of the Internet in sourcing, distribution trends that will affect procurement, outsourcing, and the roles of commodity teams—factors affect supplier roles and relationships and, ultimately, supply-chain efficiencies.
- A steel buyers' roundtable will feature discussion among Doug Grimm, VP, supply chain management, Metaldyne Corp.; Bob Carr, director of steel and energy purchasing, Metaldyne Corp.; Mark S. Caseym, group director of purchasing, Grief Bros. Corp.; and James M. Clowes, purchasing manager, Steel & Resin, Grief Bros. Corp.
- Stephen J. Cox, VP of supply chain strategy and integration at Unilever Home and Personal Care North America (HPCNA) will discuss reengineering, organizational changes, and information technology implementations.
