Surfacant Pricing News

Staff -- Purchasing, 1/13/2005

  • Chemron Corp. in November announced a 2¢ to 5¢/lb increase in off-list prices for surfactants effective immediately. Products affected include low and high active sulfates and ether sulfates, amides, betaines, blends, and the other families in the traditional Chemron surfactant line. Chemron, part of Lubrizol Corp.'s Noveon division, cites continued increases in raw material and energy costs as the driver for the increase.
  • Swiss chemicals maker Lonza also increased its surfactant prices 10% to 15%, citing increased raw materials, transportation and energy-related costs.
