- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company ( TSMC ), the world's largest dedicated chipmaking foundry, has honored Applied Materials with two Best Product awards. The awards, for Best Physical Vapor Deposition Product and Best Rapid Thermal Annealing Product, were presented at TSMC 's annual Supply Chain Management Forum in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
- Northrop Grumman recently presented its 2004 Supplier of the Year awards to 12 suppliers that have "consistently produced and delivered top quality parts and services for the company's Integrated Systems sector during the past year." Initiated in 2004, Integrated Systems' Suppliers of the Year award program is an outgrowth of the company's strategic sourcing initiative, an effort started in summer 2003 to build stronger long-term relationships between the company and its suppliers. Recipients were: Hurlen Corp. of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Data Laser Imaging of Carson, Calif., Roc-Aire Corp. of South El Monte, Calif., Parker Aerospace, Air & Fuel Division of Irvine, Calif., Superior Building Services of Orlando, Fla., Aircraft Tubular Components of Melbourne, Fla., Cygnus of Ponderay, Idaho, Harvard Custom Manufacturing of Salisbury, Md., Smiths Aerospace Systems, Electronic Systems of Grand Rapids, Mich., Air Industries Machining Corp. of Bay Shore, N.Y., Cytec Engineered Materials of Greenville, Texas and Honeywell HPG of Roanoke, Texas.
