NEC Electronics America has selected Jaco Electronics to offer value-added display distribution services for NEC's active-matrix liquid crystal display modules in North America.
Earlier this month, Jaco opened a new, state-of-the-art flat-panel display (FPD) integration center at its Hauppauge, N.Y. headquarters. The integration center addresses the growing demand for unique, customized solutions. It features dedicated engineering and production resources, and a 1,000 sq-ft clean room. The company's FPD team is now providing optimized and efficient design solutions, LCD optical enhancements, and touchscreen integrations, as well as the manufacture of FPD subassemblies and complete displays for commercial, industrial, ruggedized and military applications.
Active matrix LCD modules from NEC LCD Technologies are designed for non-PC industrial, medical, factory automation, test and measurement, entertainment, kiosk, point-of-sale, and ATM applications. NEC LCD Technologies' products are based on three core technologies: ultra-wide viewing technology, natural-light technology and adaptive-design technology that is developed from the customer's perspective to focus on the evolving needs of active and potential users. These products—ranging in size from 2.7 in. through 23 in. and featuring LED backlights, outdoor viewing ability, ultra-wide viewing angles and very high resolution—deliver a new dimension of quality for industrial and high-end monitor applications.
