Hewlett Packard recently introduced its Easy Printer Care software tool designed to help small- to medium-sized businesses manage printers. The tool provides printer maintainers visibility and allows buyers to view the status of all their HP printers at the same time with the ability to order supplies from multiple resellers. Consolidated supplies ordering is its key feature, according to HP. The free software, which will be available at http://www.hp.com/go/easyprintercare, lets customers order replacement HP supplies via HP SureSupply directly from HP or through their choice of resellers. An automatic pop-up alert or roll-up alert tells how many printers need cartridge replacements, how many are running low and what devices are okay.

The Web Jetadmin software from HP now offers a Report Generation Plug-In 3.0 which targets IT/supplies purchasers in medium to large enterprises. It also provides consolidated ordering of HP supplies and allows IT managers to easily collect, store and display ongoing printer usage information for a printer, or group of printers.
