- More academic and corporate RFID partnerships are popping up all the time. RFID technology pro-vider GlobeRanger is working in partnership with the Center for Automatic Identification at Ohio University's College of Engineering and Technology to provide its iMotion platform for use in classes and hands-on labs as well as in training programs for business executives. "Ohio University has a well established center for the study of auto ID technologies (AIDC), and we are excited that they have chosen to use GlobeRanger's iMotion platform in their courses, lab and workshops," said George Brody, founder and chief technology officer at GlobeRanger. At least one professor is already planning courses and hands-on labs using the software this academic year. "We'll also use iMotion technology during our annual Automatic Identification and Data Capture Technical Institute and upcoming seminars to model workflows and show infrastructure and data management examples for enterprise-wide, multisite, global deployments," said Todd Myers, RFID researcher at the center.
- Connecticut-based RFID solutions firm Supply Insight recently released the OEM version of its RFID software, rPlatform OEM v.2.0. The new version enables reader, network device, middleware, and EAI companies to easily brand the solution and become EPCglobal-compliant.
