Intel honors 26 "preferred quality suppliers"

Intel rewarded 26 companies with the 2005 version of the Preferred Quality Supplier Award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence. These suppliers provided products and services deemed essential business success for the world's largest chipmaker.
These notable suppliers excelled at meeting and exceeding high expectations and tough performance goals to distinguish themselves from the thousands of suppliers that worked with Intel last year. Winners were honored at a ceremony in Burlingame, Calif., where Gidu Shroff, vice president and director of materials, pointed out: "Dedication to quality and continuous improvement are highly valued by Intel. The recipients of this year's PQS awards have demonstrated commitment through top-notch performance in their respective industries; they have delivered world-class products and services while providing outstanding attention to affordability, innovation and excellence."
The award winners and their products are Advantest (flash, logic, memory and mixed signal testers and handlers), Amkor Technology (semiconductor assembly and test services), Applied Materials (fab capital equipment), Asyst-Shinko (automated material handling systems), AZ Electronic Materials (lithographic materials), Compugraphics USA (photomask repell services), Credence Systems (structural, functional and debug test systems), Daewon Semiconductor Packaging Industrial (thermoformed covers and injection molded process/shipping trays), Dow Corning (thermal interface material), and Elec & Eltek International Holdings (printed circuit boards).
Also, Georg Fischer Piping Systems (thermoplastic piping systems), Henkel (underfill and die attach paste), Hitachi High Technologies (fab capital equipment), Hon Hai Precision Industry (connectors, chassis, sockets, cables, motherboards), IBM (notebooks, desktops, workstations and servers), ICOS Vision Systems (semiconductor inspection equipment), Kelly Services (staffing services), KES Systems & Service (burn in boards, burn in board repair and maintenance services), and Komatsu Electronic Metals (epitaxial and annealed silicon wafers).
Plus, Moses Lake Industries/Tama Chemicals, (high-purity chemicals), Munters (VOC abatement equipment), Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (flip-chip substrates, wire-bond substrates and wireless module main boards), NEC Electronics (pseudo SRAM and ASIC), Nikko Materials (sputter targets), Siliconware Precision Industries (semiconductor assembly and test services) and Tyco International (sockets, connectors, chemicals, passives and RF switches).
