Motion Industries acquires Voorhies Supply

-- Purchasing, 12/8/2005

Motion Industries has completed the acquisition of Voorhies Supply Co., L.L.C., a Louisiana supplier of industrial parts and supplies.

Voorhies Supply Co., L.L.C. has been privately held and operated since 1949. The company, known as Voorhies Supply Company, and Standard Supply and Hardware, has served the industrial marketplace through eight locations in Louisiana.

"This strategic move is a continuation of our expansion plans in Louisiana, and we are pleased to have Voorhies Supply join our organization," says Bill Stevens, president and CEO, Motion Industries.

With 2004 sales in excess of $2.5 billion, Motion Industries serves more than 150,000 customers from the automotive, chemical, food and beverage, wood and lumber, iron and steel, pulp and paper, and pharmaceutical industries through 460 operations across North America.
