The 10 best e-procurement users
Staff -- Purchasing, 2/16/2006
Aberdeen research recently named 10 companies it views as best practice leaders in e-procurement. The companies were evaluated on benefits they gained, percentage of total enterprise spend that flows through their e-procurement systems, number of internal users of the system, number of suppliers enabled to use the system, and number of product categories procured using the system, among other key factors. "E-procurement may have been over-hyped in the early days of the dotcom boom, but leading enterprises are now leveraging e-procurement to improve contract compliance, reduce material and process costs, and increase spend under management," says Tim Minahan, Aberdeen's chief service officer. "These successful e-procurement deployments offer examples that can be emulated by other enterprises investigating e-procurement technology or the expansion of existing systems."
