Purchasing seeks MRO champs
-- Purchasing, 3/2/2006
Purchasing is looking for purchasing professionals with responsibility for the MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) buy to profile in its pages in its August issue. The editors are especially interested in stories of MRO purchasers who excel at championing the buy within their companies. These MRO buyer champions have taken a day-to-day challenge and turned it into a success: They may have lowered inventory levels through a consignment program, reduced purchasing costs (perhaps with more energy-efficient products) or introduced a new application or technology. Whatever they’ve accomplished, it’s likely they worked closely with a dedicated supplier. Maybe they standardized on one product across several plants nationwide or conducted an online auction that helped improve satisfaction of internal customers. We are eager to hear about him or her.
Please send a brief message describing this MRO purchasing champion to savery@reedbusiness.com by May 31, 2006. Purchasing MRO Champions for 2004 include buyers from BMW, United Technologies, Pilgrim’s Pride, Woodward, Kellogg and Whayne Supply (August 11, 2005, p. 48).
