Avnet signs search tool deal with SupplyFrame

SupplyFrame will provide its new GoPart search tool free of charge to customers of Avnet Electronics Marketing under a new agreement signed by the two companies. Avnet is the exclusive partner for the launch of SupplyFrame GoPart.
GoPart is a vertical search engine (VSE) that allows purchasers and engineers to pull up product data from most Windows applications. It eliminates time spent hunting for information across numerous web sites and catalogs, according to the companies.The VSE was designed with engineers and procurement professionals in mind to help speed design time by providing an instant 360-degree view of an electronic component. The tool helps designers find component information from inside such applications as EDA, MRP, MS Excel, MS Outlook or a browser.In addition to providing the part information needed, it also advises users on product alternatives, price estimates and intelligence on purchasing.SupplyFrame selected Avnet for its reputation of superior service and strong relationships with engineers and procurement professionals.“SupplyFrame is built on the idea that decision makers need facts quickly and without an agenda, not a page full of web links or sales pitches," says Steve Flagg, founder and CEO of SupplyFrame.
