India Expands Steel Capacity

India has raised its forecast for steel production to expand threefold by 2015 to as much as 120 million tons, up from its current capacity of 44 million. Indian Steel Secretary R. S. Pandey told Indian news outlets that, "Given a conducive mineral policy framework, India could be producing 180 million by 2019–2020."
